Terms of Service

1. About the Service

Famshare is a platform that connects people who want to share the cost of subscription services (“Members”) with people who host those subscription accounts (“Hosts”). We provide the tools to list families, request to join, communicate, and track payments. We are not a subscription provider, payment processor, or insurer.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to enter into contracts to use Famshare. You are responsible for providing accurate account information and keeping your login credentials secure.

3. Hosts and Members

• Hosts create listings, set pricing and slots, approve join requests, and manage their families. Hosts are responsible for maintaining access to the shared subscription for approved members and for communicating payment expectations clearly.
• Members browse listings, send join requests, pay the host through the agreed method, and follow the host's family rules. Members must not share login credentials outside the family or resell access.
• Famshare does not guarantee the availability, quality, or legality of any host's subscription. All arrangements are between Hosts and Members.

4. Payments and Pro subscriptions

• Famshare may offer paid Pro memberships that unlock additional features such as creating unlimited families and priority support.
• Pro payments are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's terms.
• Payments between Hosts and Members are arranged directly by those users. Famshare is not responsible for disputes, refunds, or failed payments between Hosts and Members.
• Hosts are responsible for complying with any tax or legal obligations that apply to money they receive.

5. User conduct

You agree not to:

• Use Famshare for illegal, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.
• Harass, threaten, spam, or impersonate other users.
• Share account credentials, payment details, or other sensitive information in unsafe ways.
• Post false, misleading, or infringing content.
• Circumvent platform limits, security features, or access controls.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service.

6. Content and moderation

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting on Famshare, you grant us a limited license to display and distribute that content as needed to operate the Service. We reserve the right to remove content, suspend accounts, or ban users who violate these Terms or create risk for others.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Famshare does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We are not responsible for the actions of Hosts, Members, or third-party services such as Stripe or subscription providers.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Famshare and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create legal risk, or harm the community. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting an updated version and updating the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the revised Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Famshare operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
